Wildlife Weekend
Join Farmington Hills Nature Center staff and fellow MAEOE members and become a citizen scientist for a day! Learn about and participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count. You will explore the park and count bird species to aid conservation efforts. After the count, warm up around a campfire and enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores with friends!
Bird Count will take place from 9:30am-11:00am. Farmington Hills staff will input all data collected during the count. Campfire will take place from 11:00am-12:00pm.
Dress to be outdoors the entire meet-up. Bring your own binoculars if you have a pair (limited pairs will be available). Bathrooms and warm up space available in the Nature Center. Trails are a mix of paved and gravel with some uneven terrain. The firepit is located in a mostly flat, grassy area.
Hosted by Membership Co-Chair Annabelle Raines. For questions email membership@maeoe.com
Join us for an artsy winter MAEOE Meet Up! We will have the studio to ourselves as Just Love Art helps us create amazing nature themed fused glass art. Starting with the same glass base, we will each be able to create our own works of art with the nature theme of our choice.
The class fee includes materials and shipping to get your piece back to you, no matter where in the state you come from. You are also welcome to bring food/drink into the studio to enjoy while you create. Below are just some examples, you are only limited by your creativity! For an additional fee paid on site you could turn your piece from a suncatcher/ornament style into a tealight or nightlight.
Hosted by Marketing Chair Tracy Page. For questions email marketing@maeoe.com
