WILDLIFE WEEKEND
If you enjoy spending time with friends, colleagues, and nature-loving people, this winter getaway is for you! MAEOE's Annual Wildlife Weekend promises fun, entertainment, and hands-on learning across a variety of indoor and outdoor habitats. Choose one of two immersive tracks for the weekend:
Nature, Art, and Photography
Get tips and tricks on outdoor photography whether it be landscapes, wildlife, or recreation. You will have plenty of time to go outdoors choose your favorite winter subjects, and learn how to improve your photography technique. In addition, you will learn how to photograph and draw a simple object in nature and expand it out to an entire landscape.
Songbirds in the Snow
Have some winter fun learning bird identification basics, the best places to find birds in Michigan, and how to use phone apps while birding. We will practice winter birding skills with hikes at local birding hotspots including the Houghton Lake Flats and Hartwick Pines State Park.
DISCOUNTS, FEES, & MORE
MAEOE Members save $50! All-inclusive fees for meals, lodging and instruction are $295 for MAEOE members and $345 for non-members, if registered by January 1.
Special Note: Members must log-in and register in order to receive their discounted Member Ticket.
Commit early and receive a $25 discount! After January 1st, prices increase to $320 for members and $370 for nonmembers.
LODGING INFORMATION
The Ralph A. MacMullan Center on Higgins Lake will once again host this winter retreat. Note that RAM Center Lodging is offered "Twin Style" with two twin beds to a room. Bring a friend to bunk with or have one assigned! Single Style rooms are offered for an additional $50.
