We hope you can join us October 3 - 5, 2025 in beautiful Marquette!

This year’s conference has a variety of sessions, workshops, and experiences similar to past conferences, but also unique to Marquette! Join us for a weekend full of local speakers, outdoor recreations, networking, and Upper Peninsula fun!

Thursday - Preconference Flight

This year’s pre-conference day looks a bit different! Instead of choosing one longer field experience, conference attendees can be part of the MAEOE Flight to Marquette! During your adventurous journey from the lower peninsula to Marquette, you have the opportunity to attend a flight of experiences to break up the drive.

Thursday - Migration Mixer

At the end of Thursday’s Flight, join MAEOE for a Migration Celebration at the Presque Isle Pavilion.

Drinks and light refreshments provided.

$15 tickets sold on site (cash preferred).

Field Experiences and Workshops

Choose from a variety of experiences that explore Marquette’s history, geology, outdoor recreation sites, and more! Full descriptions of each experience can be found here.

Field experiences and workshops are offered:

Friday morning, 8:30 - 11:30 AM
Saturday afternoon, 1:00 - 4:00 PM
Sunday morning, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

No other conference activities are offered during these times.

Friday - MAEOE MASH

Our annual networking event! Reconnect with friends and meet new ones over beverages and hors d’oeuvres at local brewery Barrel + Beam.

Located in the old The Northwoods Supper Club (opened in 1934), this venue has a rich history.

$25 Advance tickets only, limited sales.

Saturday - Morning Birding

Join MAEOE for an early morning of bird calls and binoculars before conference sessions get underway.

While not required, it is recommended to bring your own binoculars.

No tickets required.

Saturday - Awards Banquet

Each year, MAEOE recognizes individuals and organizations that exemplify leadership in the fields of outdoor and environmental education at the Annual Awards Banquet. Nominations open until August 10.

Sunday - Coffee with the Board

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us for our conference conclusion, Sunday morning. This gathering provides insights into what the next year holds for MAEOE, including announcement of the newly elected board members and a sneak peek of the next conference location.

Enjoy the views of Middle Bay from the Presque Isle Pavilion over light refreshments as we celebrate another successful conference together!
