Description

Participants will gain an understanding of the NAAEE Guidelines for Excellence series, practical ways to engage community groups and build collaborative, inclusive environmental education opportunities. Participants will receive a copy of the Community Engagement Guidelines for Excellence. The National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education, initiated by NAAEE in 1994, developed a series of guidelines that set the standards for high-quality environmental education. Each of these publications was developed by a diverse team of professionals, and each has gone through a substantive review by thousands of professionals prior to its publication. Genesee Road, Burton, MI 48509 Time: Sunday, October 4 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. Session Outcomes: 1. Understand how to use the NAAEE Guidelines for Excellence series. 2. Strategize ways for utilizing/improving community engagement. About the Presenter: Erin Parker, Community Outreach Interpretive Services Supervisor at Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Erin supports nature-based outreach in a five-county regional park system. Erin also volunteers as MAEOE's Education Subcommittee: NAAEE Guidelines Trainers’ Bureau chairperson and is a Certified EEC-Professional.
