Description
Discover how inclusive kayaking fosters environmental stewardship by expanding access to waterways. Led by an American Canoe Association-certified instructor with adaptive endorsement, this session explores adaptive equipment, inclusive teaching strategies, and safety considerations, followed by a guided paddle experience. Participants will gain practical tools to design accessible, field-based programs that empower diverse audiences to connect with, care for, and protect local waterways. The experience begins at the Flint River Watershed Coalition building with a discussion and exploration of adaptive equipment. Restrooms will be available. After this introduction, participants will be transported to a launch location for a guided kayak paddling experience, appropriate for beginners. Kayaks and life vests will be provided.
