Description
Discover invasive species where they live—on the water and along the shoreline. Through hands-on learning and a guided kayak trip, participants will build identification and observation skills while exploring, engaging, and using field-based stewardship approaches that they can adapt for their own communities to help protect Michigan's waterways and natural communities. The experience begins with a short interactive discussion in the Flint River Watershed Coalition building, where restrooms will be available. Then transportation is provided to the launch location at Thread Lake Park, where participants will take a short walk along the unpaved and uneven shoreline before beginning the 90-minute kayak experience. This kayak experience takes place on a lake and is appropriate for beginners. Kayaks and life vests will be provided.
